Human Resources Coordinator / HR Generalist
Excel Personnel is recruiting for an experienced Human Resources Coordinator / HR Generalist to provide hands-on HR support for our client, a busy construction company in Kamloops, BC.
This is a temporary, part-time opportunity with an immediate start, ideal for an HR professional who is comfortable working independently and managing a mix of recruitment, employee relations and day-to-day HR responsibilities.
The position is expected to be approximately three days per week, with some flexibility based on recruitment activity and operational needs. There is potential for the role to develop into a longer-term or permanent opportunity.
What You’ll Be Doing
Recruitment will be a key focus of this position. You will manage hiring activities for current and upcoming vacancies, including field and equipment operator positions, while also providing general HR support to management and employees.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing recruitment from job advertising and candidate sourcing through screening and interview coordination
- Reviewing applications and identifying qualified candidates
- Maintaining communication with candidates throughout the recruitment process
- Coordinating onboarding, orientation and offboarding activities
- Ensuring employment documentation and employee records are complete, accurate and confidential
- Providing day-to-day HR support to management and employees
- Assisting with employee relations and workplace concerns
- Supporting performance management and employee conduct matters
- Assisting with HR policies, procedures and related documentation
- Providing HR support related to WorkSafeBC matters as needed
- Supporting additional HR projects and priorities as required
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum 2–3 years of progressive Human Resources experience, including recruitment and employee relations
- Demonstrated experience with candidate sourcing, screening and interview coordination
- Experience supporting employee relations and workplace matters
- Experience with onboarding, offboarding and general HR administration
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to manage changing priorities and work independently
- Sound judgment and discretion when handling confidential or sensitive matters
- Experience supporting a construction, trades, industrial or similar workforce is a strong asset
Hours & Schedule
This is a temporary, part-time position with an immediate start.
Approximately 3 days per week, working 6–8 hours per day. Some flexibility is available depending on recruitment activity and operational needs.
Compensation
$25.00–$33.00 per hour, depending on experience.
Position Term
This position is initially temporary, with potential for a longer-term or permanent opportunity depending on future organizational needs.
