Now Hiring: Experienced Forklift Operator (LTL Freight)
We're looking for an experienced Forklift Operator to join our transportation and warehouse team. This position is ideal for someone who has experience working with LTL freight, understands how to safely stack and organize freight, and can efficiently load and unload trailers in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Safely load and unload LTL trailers using a forklift.
- Stack, organize, and stage freight to maximize warehouse and trailer space.
- Properly distribute weight and secure freight to prevent damage during transport.
- Handle palletized and non-palletized freight with care.
- Verify freight against shipping documents.
- Assist with cross-docking operations.
- Keep the warehouse clean, organized, and safe.
- Follow all workplace safety procedures.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of forklift experience.
- Previous experience loading and unloading LTL trailers is required.
- Experience with cross-docking, freight sorting, and maximizing trailer space is a strong asset.
- Strong understanding of freight stacking, weight distribution, and safe freight handling practices.
- Ability to handle freight of various shapes, sizes, and weights.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs when required.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work in a fast-paced team environment.
- Forklift certification is an asset (or willingness to obtain one, if applicable).
