Overview
We are seeking a friendly and organized Cashier/Stock Associate to join our retail team. This role involves providing excellent customer service, managing transactions, and assisting with stock organization. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, be multilingual if possible, and have experience in retail sales, cashiering, or hospitality. Bilingual abilities in English and French are a plus. This position offers an engaging environment where organizational skills and attention to detail are essential for success.
Responsibilities
- Operate POS systems efficiently to process transactions accurately and quickly
- Handle cash, credit card payments, and perform cash handling duties with integrity
- Provide exceptional customer service by assisting shoppers with inquiries and product locations
- Upsell products and promote store promotions to enhance sales opportunities
- Manage stock levels by organizing shelves, restocking merchandise, and merchandising displays
- Maintain a clean and organized checkout area and stockroom
- Assist with inventory management through filing, record keeping, and stock counts
- Support team members with time management tasks to ensure smooth store operations
- Demonstrate leadership qualities by guiding new staff or trainees when needed
- Communicate effectively with customers and team members in English
Experience
- Previous experience in retail sales, cashiering, or hospitality is preferred but not required; training will be provided
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications such as Excel for inventory tracking is advantageous
- Basic math skills for handling transactions accurately are necessary
- Strong communication skills in English
- Ability to operate computer systems and POS terminals efficiently
- Experience with merchandising, upselling, and customer service enhances suitability for this role
- Capable of heavy lifting when stocking shelves or moving merchandise as needed
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail for managing stock and paperwork
- Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure while maintaining professionalism
Pay: $17.60-$17.70 per hour
