Cochrane NAPA Auto Parts is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Shipper/Reciever to join our team! In this hands-on role, you will be a key member of our store operations, responsible for managing the flow of parts and materials into and out of the store. Key Responsibilities
- Receive & Inspect: Unload and inspect all incoming shipments for damage, verifying contents against packing slips and purchase orders.
- Discrepancy Reporting: Reject damaged goods and promptly report any shortages or discrepancies to the appropriate team members.
- Inventory Tracking: Accurately record all incoming and outgoing shipments in our digital inventory management system.
- Organize & Code: Unpack, sort and organize merchandise, ensuring products are properly coded and routed to their designated storage areas.
- Prepare Shipments: Prepare and pack outgoing shipments for delivery to customers or vendors, ensuring all required documentation is complete.
- Equipment Operation: Safely and responsibly operate warehouse equipment (such as a hand truck or forklift) to load, unload, and move goods.
- Safety & Maintenance: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area, complying with all safety procedures and regulations.
- Audits & Counts: Perform periodic inventory counts and assist with audits to ensure maximum inventory accuracy.
- Collaborative Support: Liaise with delivery drivers, customers, and internal staff to resolve shipping and receiving inquiries efficiently.
What We Are Looking For (Qualifications)
- Experience: Previous experience as a Shipper/Reciever, Warehouse Worker, or in a related logistics field is preferred.
- Automotive Knowledge: Prior experience with automotive parts is a strong asset, but not required (we are happy to train the right candidate!)
- Skills: Excellent organizational, time-management, and multitasking skills with a strong attention to detail.
- Teamwork: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Physical Demands: Physical ability to lift heavy objects (up to 75lbs) stand/walk for long periods, and perform repetitive physical tasks.
- Tech Savvy: Proficiency with computer systems for tracking shipments and managing inventory.
- Certifications: A forklift certification is a definite asset.
