Overview
We are seeking a friendly, creative, and energetic Floral & Café Assistant to join our team. This unique role combines floral shop support with café service, where you will assist with flowers, plants, workshops, and customer experiences while also preparing and serving coffee, tea, and specialty beverages.
The ideal candidate will have an interest in flowers, plants, design, and hospitality, with excellent communication skills and a passion for creating beautiful experiences for our guests. Experience in floral design or barista service is an asset, but we are willing to train the right person.
Duties
- Assist with daily cafe and floral operations, caring for flowers and plants.
- Support floral bouquets, workshops, and special events.
- Help maintain a beautiful, organized, and inspiring floral environment.
- Prepare and serve coffee beverages, teas, specialty drinks, cocktails and seasonal beverages.
- Create attractive drink presentations, including basic latte art.
- Serve food items, desserts, and tea service while ensuring proper presentation.
- Provide exceptional customer service by welcoming guests and assisting with their floral, plant, and café needs.
- Process customer orders using POS systems and handle payments accurately.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of floral, café, and customer areas.
- Assist with event setup, workshops, and seasonal promotions.
- Follow food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
- Work collaboratively with the team to create a positive and welcoming guest experience.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in floral, café, hospitality, retail, or customer service roles is preferred.
- Interest or experience in flowers, plants, art, design, or creative industries is an asset.
- Barista experience and knowledge of espresso preparation is an asset.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate professionally and warmly.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a busy environment.
- Strong attention to detail and appreciation for aesthetics and presentation.
- Comfortable standing for extended periods and assisting with physical tasks.
- Reliable, positive, and team-oriented attitude.
- Willingness to learn floral techniques and café operations.
