Overview
Invitation to join our family oriented dental practice as a Registered Dental Hygienist and play a vital role in delivering exceptional oral health care. In this energetic and rewarding position, you will provide comprehensive dental hygiene services, educate patients on maintaining optimal oral health, and support the overall efficiency of our busy dental practice.
If needed, great support and guidance may be available from our current and very capable dental hygienist.
Duties
- Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing teeth to remove plaque and tartar buildup
- Take and develop digital radiographs (X-rays) to assist in diagnosis and treatment planning
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, including brushing, flossing, and dietary advice
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures with precision and professionalism
- Manage patient records accurately using dental practice management software such as Dentally
- Provide support for orthodontic patients by assisting with appliance care and adjustments when needed
- Support pediatric patients by creating a friendly environment that encourages cooperation and comfort
- Ensure infection control protocols are strictly followed to maintain a safe clinical environment
- Communicate effectively with patients, addressing questions about treatments and billing processes
- Collaborate with the team to streamline daily operations and enhance patient experience
Qualifications
- Valid BC licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current credentials
- Proven experience in dental hygiene practice within a busy dental office setting
- Proficiency in Dentally or similar dental management software is highly desirable
- Knowledge of orthodontics, pediatrics, and medical terminology enhances patient care capabilities
- Prior experience in dental assisting or customer service roles is advantageous
- Strong understanding of infection control standards and safety procedures
