Job Title: Water Taxi/Barge Driver
Type: Seasonal – 6-month contract April to November approximately

Position Overview
The Taxi & Barge Driver’s primary responsibility is to transport passengers, goods, and equipment safely and efficiently across waterways. Killbear to Key River to Lake Joseph, Britt and surrounding areas. This is an assignment that will be in one week stints.
Marina boats will be used
Mileage Paid, depending on the circumstance
Accommodations may be available, depending on the commute.
Essential Job Functions
· Transporting Hydro One employees destinations for hydro repair.
· Ensure the safety of all passengers, crew, and cargo
· Navigate waterways using charts, GPS systems, and local knowledge
· Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance of vessels, paying particular attention to safety requirements, ensuring that any engine/hull issues are immediately reported to the Operations Manager
· Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper weight distribution and secure fastening
· Monitor weather and wave conditions to make informed operational decisions
· Comply with all maritime laws, regulations, and company policies
· Maintain accurate logs of trips and maintenance activities
· Provide excellent customer service to passengers, including assisting with boarding and answering questions.
· Carry out any other duties that may be requested by Management

· Follow, understand, and practice all Marina policies and procedures (ex: workplace health and safety, environmental, vacation, time off, etc.)
Requirements:
· Must be available to work flexible hours Monday to Sunday
· Knowledge of nautical terminology or the ability to learn quickly is an asset
· Must be a strong swimmer
· Possession of valid Small Vessel Operator Proficiency (SVOP) an asset
· Possession of a valid Marine First Aid and CPR Certification an asset
· Strong knowledge of local waterways and navigation rules
· Ability to handle emergency situations calmly and effectively
· Physically able to handle equipment and perform physically demanding tasks
· Must possess superior customer service skills
· Strong verbal and written communication skills

· May encounter hazardous materials, dangerous or toxic substances and chemicals
