The Welding Shop Calgary is a growing structural steel and miscellaneous metals fabrication company looking for a reliable and motivated Shipper / Receiver to join our team.
This position plays a key role in keeping our fabrication shop operating efficiently by managing incoming materials, outgoing shipments, inventory organization, and loading/unloading of steel products.
Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming steel, materials, and supplies.
- Organize and maintain material storage areas and inventory.
- Load and unload trucks using forklifts and other material handling equipment.
- Prepare and package outgoing shipments for delivery or customer pickup.
- Coordinate material movement between shop, yard, and job sites.
- Verify shipping and receiving documentation.
- Assist shop personnel with material preparation and staging.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Assist with general shop and yard duties as required.
Qualifications
- Previous shipping/receiving experience in a steel fabrication, manufacturing, or construction environment preferred.
- Forklift experience required.
- Experience handling structural steel and miscellaneous metals is considered a strong asset.
- Ability to safely lift and move heavy materials.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license required.
- CSTS certification is an asset.
