Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and professional DZ or GZ Delivery Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting goods to various locations throughout the GTA, ensuring timely deliveries, and providing excellent customer service. This role requires a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and communication to maintain high standards of service and customer satisfaction.
SHIFT: 2PM - 10PM
Duties
- Safely operate 2024 Hino L7 271 – 26 foot trailer to transport goods to designated locations
- Load and unload packages, ensuring proper handling and secure placement
- Use pallet truck as needed for moving heavy or bulky items
- Verify delivery orders for accuracy before departure and upon arrival
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery times and issues
- Maintain cleanliness and routine maintenance of delivery vehicle
- Assist with warehouse tasks such as inventory management and organizing shipments when not on deliveries
- Follow all safety protocols and traffic laws during transportation
Skills
- Experience with commercial driving and familiarity with local routes
- 3 years of DZ or GZ experience on a commercial policy.
- Strong customer service skills to interact professionally with clients during deliveries
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks, including moving items manually or with equipment like forklifts
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members and customers
- Warehouse experience is a plus, including knowledge of inventory handling and safety procedures
- Ability to operate forklifts or similar equipment is advantageous but not mandatory
- Good organizational skills to manage delivery schedules efficiently
