About Chata (chata.ai)
Founded in 2016 and commercially launched in 2018, Chata.ai is a Canadian-based technology company that has developed an AI-driven business intelligence platform that empowers users to make data-driven decisions more easily, more intuitively, and more often. The foundation of Chata.ai's platform is advanced Natural Language Understanding (NLU) technology that allows individuals to gain insights from their data by asking a simple question.
We are applying Software Engineering, Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Machine Learning (ML) to solve some of the world’s toughest data access problems. We have high expectations of communication, accountability, and curiosity, and are looking for those who would be inspired and stimulated in such an environment.
Position Summary
We are looking for an Integrations Analyst to join our Product team, reporting to the VP, Integrations & Solutions. In this role, you will build customized language models for our integration partners, allowing them to query their databases using natural language and receive automated alerts from their data.
You will be hands-on with the data, responsible for creating the high-quality training sets and precise model instructions that drive our core capabilities. You’ll work face-to-face with clients to understand their specific business needs and data structures, translating those requirements into a working solution.
This is a highly collaborative role. You will partner closely with our Sales and Account Management teams throughout the commercial lifecycle to guarantee a seamless client experience. Once a model is built, you will drive rigorous quality assurance through thorough testing, deep analysis, and continuous refinement of the training data. Finally, you will own the iteration loop—building custom evaluations (test sets) to validate performance and ensure our models continuously evolve and improve over time.
Responsibilities
· Use Chata’s proprietary software to build custom language models that allow customers to query their databases using natural language and receive automated data alerts.
· Research and analyze partner business domains and data schemas to map out specific requirements, technical use cases, and success metrics.
· Create and maintain high-quality datasets alongside precise model instructions (system prompts) for model training, prediction, and performance analysis.
· Proactively monitor model progress and corpus generation, troubleshooting and fixing emerging data issues immediately.
· Build your own evals (test sets) to continuously validate and refine model performance, driving the testing loop so the model keeps getting better over time.
· Contribute to the continuous evolution of our internal tools and model analysis processes by providing feedback and feature recommendations to leadership based on real-world partner deployments.
Minimum Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Computer Science, IT, Business/Data Analytics, or a related technical discipline.
· 1+ years of professional SQL development experience. You must be highly proficient at both writing and reading SQL. Since language models make mistakes, you need the ability to quickly read, debug, and fix complex, machine-generated queries.
· A strong understanding of relational databases, large datasets, and dimensional modeling (fact and dimension tables), along with hands-on experience using at least one Database Management System (DBMS).
· A basic understanding of Large Language Models (LLMs) and NLP concepts. You don’t need to be an AI researcher, but you should understand how language models process information and instructions.
· High agency and a resourceful mindset. You have a natural aptitude for independent research and troubleshooting, and you can thrive in an ambiguous environment without a step-by-step roadmap.
You are the right person for this role if you…
· You take ownership of roadblocks. Your instinct is to independently dig into the data, research, and troubleshoot before escalating.
· You operate with high agency. You thrive in ambiguity and confidently deliver outcomes without a step-by-step roadmap.
· You take ownership of your learning. You are naturally inquisitive and quickly pick up new concepts, data structures, and systems.
· You own your time. You prioritize effectively on the fly and stay level-headed when requirements or processes shift.
· You own the customer experience. You communicate clearly, advocate for the customer's needs, and confidently manage expectations.
Nice to have:
· Financial markets experience. You understand the unique terminology, data structures, and core concepts (such as asset classes, market data feeds, portfolio hierarchies, etc.) that drive the industry.
· Technical client-facing experience. You have a background in Solutions Engineering or Technical Support, translating complex technical concepts into clear insights for customers.
· Python & Data pipelines. You have hands-on experience writing Python and working with ETL processes to manipulate and move large datasets.
