Overview
Looking for a HARP certified Level II dental assistant with Abeldent experience. Position will be in 2 offices, one in Oakville and one in Port Credit. This energetic role offers the opportunity to work closely with skilled dentists, assist in a variety of dental procedures, and ensure patients feel comfortable and cared for from start to finish. We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented professional who is passionate about helping patients achieve their best smile. In this position, you will play a key role in supporting clinical operations, managing patient interactions, and maintaining efficient office workflows—all while fostering a positive and welcoming atmosphere.
Duties
- Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, materials, and supplies to ensure smooth patient procedures.
- Assist dentists during examinations, restorative treatments, orthodontic procedures, and other dental interventions with precision and care.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using CAD (Computer-Aided Design) technology to aid in accurate diagnosis.
- Manage patient records using dental software such as Dentrix or Epic to ensure accurate documentation of treatments and appointments.
- Provide excellent customer service as a dental receptionist by scheduling appointments, confirming patient details, and addressing inquiries professionally.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, post-treatment care, and treatment plans to promote ongoing dental health.
- Maintain strict infection control protocols and sterilize instruments according to OSHA standards to ensure a safe environment for everyone.
- Support pediatric patients by creating a friendly atmosphere that eases anxiety and encourages positive experiences.
- Assist with insurance processing and billing procedures to facilitate smooth financial transactions.
Experience
- Prior experience as a dental assistant or in a similar clinical support role is preferred but not required; we value enthusiasm and willingness to learn!
- Familiarity with dental software systems such as Dentrix or Epic enhances your ability to manage patient records efficiently.
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to dentistry helps in accurately documenting procedures and communicating effectively with team members.
- Experience working with orthodontic patients is a plus, especially if you’re familiar with orthodontic appliances and procedures.
- Basic understanding of pediatric dentistry techniques enables you to provide compassionate care tailored for young patients.
- Certification in dental assisting or related fields is advantageous; ongoing training opportunities are available for professional growth.
