Responsibilities
- Operate excavators with precision to perform digging, trenching, lifting, and material placement tasks.
- Assist with the operation of auxiliary equipment such as dozers, loaders and skid steers as needed.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance checks on heavy equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Collaborate with team members to execute site plans efficiently while adhering to safety protocols and environmental regulations.
- Utilize mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting minor equipment issues and performing basic repairs when necessary.
- Maintain accurate logs of work performed, equipment usage, and safety inspections for project documentation.
Requirements
- Proven experience operating excavators in a construction or heavy equipment environment.
- Knowledge of additional machinery such as excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, and skid steers.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot equipment issues.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) or equivalent certification for transporting heavy machinery if required by project scope.
- Construction experience involving heavy equipment operation across various terrains and project types.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions while maintaining high safety standards.
- Strong understanding of construction site safety procedures and protocols.
