Primary Alternate Company Security Officer DO, Full-Time
MacKinnon & Olding has an immediate opening for full-time Primary Alternate Company Security Officer (ACSO) DO to join its Security Team.
RESPONSIBILITIES: What you will do
- Administer the personnel security screening process from initial intake through submission and clearance approval, ensuring all required documentation is complete and accurate
- Coordinate criminal record checks, fingerprint submissions, background verifications, and Controlled Goods screening in accordance with applicable requirements
- Review and verify security screening documentation, identifying and resolving discrepancies or errors prior to submission through government screening portals
- Maintain accurate records and tracking of security clearances, including applications, approvals, renewals, upgrades, and expiry dates
- Coordinate clearance renewals and upgrades, including employee notifications, documentation collection, and submission management
- Deliver security briefings and support onboarding and offboarding activities for employees holding security clearances of Controlled Goods authorization
- Support compliance with the Contract Security Program and Controlled Goods Program, including government inspections, compliance reviews, and acting as the primary CSO in their absence
QUALIFICATIONS: Your background
- Post-secondary education in administration, business, or related field considered an asset
- 1-3+ years of experience working in human resources, corporate security, compliance, or industrial security management
- ACSO training through Public Services and Procurement Canada’s Contract Security Program
- Designated Official certification under the Controlled Goods Program
- Experience with administrative coordination and regulatory compliance
- Knowledge of the Contract Security Manual and Controlled Goods Regulations preferred
