Overview
Van Engelen Dairy Farms Ltd, are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Farm Hand to join our modern cash crop and Dairy agricultural team. This role involves supporting daily farm operations, maintaining equipment, and assisting with crop and livestock management. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, physical stamina, and a passion for farming. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in agricultural practices and farm maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Assist with daily farm duties in Dairy barns and outside around the farm, as well as assist farm mechanics, and fabricators/ welders when needed.
- Help order and pick up parts, and deliver them where they're needed under the guidance of the Lead mechanic or Operations manager.
- Operate smaller equipment at times, safely and efficiently
- Operate large Ag equipment, safely and efficiently
- Humanely handle Dairy cattle and work in dusty environments
- Perform routine maintenance and checks on farm machinery
- Support livestock care including feeding, cleaning, and health monitoring
- Use hand tools and power tools for various maintenance and yard care tasks around the farm
- Conduct general farm upkeep such as building repairs, and landscape management equipment, yard and barn upkeep, such as pressure washing, cab detailing, weed whipping, barn cleaning
- Assist heavy machinery operators with general labor duties, such as running a packer, shoveling and raking, running a laser, assisting dump trucks in backing into spots
- Follow safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all team members
Requirements

- Ability to work and stay motivated working alone, as well as in a team setting
- Ability to operate light duty equipment and power tools safely
- Physical strength for heavy lifting and prolonged outdoor work in various weather conditions
- Willing to spend days in harder than average work environments such as pressure washing, dusty physical jobs in barns, potentially outside work all year round no matter the weather
- Experience with hand tools and maintenance tasks preferred but not required
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Prior experience on a farm or in agricultural settings is a plus but not mandatory
- Ok with some days being longer, 10 hours plus
- Must have minimum of a valid G license along with reliable means of transportation every day
- Approved Safety boots must be worn every day, other smaller safety equipment, Saftey glasses, earmuffs, gloves etc will be provided
Pay: $22.00-$26.00 per hour
