Duties
- Assist clients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote comfort and independence.
- Provide medication administration following prescribed schedules and ensure proper documentation of all treatments.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and preferences while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety.
- Perform light housekeeping tasks including cleaning, laundry, and organization to maintain a safe and hygienic environment.
- Support clients with mobility and transfer techniques, including heavy lifting when necessary, using proper safety protocols.
- Offer companionship and emotional support to reduce feelings of loneliness or isolation, especially for clients with dementia or chronic illnesses.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals and family members to develop personalized care plans that meet each client’s unique needs.
- Maintain accurate records of care provided, medication schedules, and any changes in client condition for ongoing assessment.
Requirements
- Proven experience in assisted living environments or home care settings demonstrating strong patient care skills.
- Prior experience working with seniors, individuals with disabilities, or those requiring hospice or dementia care is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of nursing home procedures, caregiving best practices, and safety protocols for heavy lifting and mobility assistance.
- Ability to perform light housekeeping tasks effectively while adhering to sanitation standards.
- Excellent communication skills to interact empathetically with clients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Certification in caregiving or relevant health-related training is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to obtain necessary certifications is expected.
- Physical stamina and strength required for tasks such as heavy lifting and assisting with mobility.
