Position Summary
The HR Generalist will provide broad HR support across the organization, including recruitment, benefits administration, employee relations, HR policy support, WCB claims/return-to-work programs, disability claims, and other generalist responsibilities. This position will have a strong HRIS focus, with responsibility for supporting the administration, accuracy, and continuous improvement of Dayforce. The successful candidate will maintain employee data, support system workflows and reporting, assist users with Dayforce-related questions, and help ensure HR processes are efficient, consistent, and compliant. This role requires strong attention to detail, sound knowledge of HR best practices, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Supervisor Responsibilities
This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities over other employees.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Administer and maintain Dayforce HRIS data, including employee profiles, job and position information, organizational structure, employment status changes, and other key HR records.
· Support Dayforce workflows and processes, including onboarding, job changes, employee updates, terminations, benefits changes, time and attendance, and related HR transactions.
· Monitor HRIS data integrity by completing regular audits, identifying discrepancies, and coordinating corrections to ensure employee information remains accurate and up to date.
· Provide Dayforce support to employees and managers by answering system-related questions, troubleshooting basic issues, and assisting with navigation, self-service functions, and process completion.
· Assist with Dayforce configuration updates, testing, documentation, and implementation of system enhancements or new functionality as required.
· Assist with recruitment efforts, including posting job openings, screening resumes, scheduling interviews, and conducting background checks.
· Prepare new hire documents and ensure new employees have fully complete the onboarding and training processes.
· Maintain accurate employee records throughout the organization.
· Support staff and managers in interpreting policies, creating employment agreements and implementing onboarding, terminations, learning and development programs, performance management, rewards and recognition, internal communications, compensation, and more.
· Assist in all aspects of staff relations and provide resolutions as needed, including performance improvement, handling staff complaints, conducting investigations, managing disciplinary actions, and overseeing terminations.
· Facilitate WCB claims submissions and manage returns to work.
· Coordinate employee benefits changes, and inquiries.
· Provide dedicated and effective advisory services to all staff, covering areas such as absence management, performance issues, health concerns, conduct and capability, grievances, organizational changes, and other staff-related matters.
· Develop, update, and communicate HR policies and procedures.
· Contribute to HR projects and initiatives as assigned.
· Maintain staff confidence and protect operations by keeping human resource information confidential.
· Ensure knowledge of and stay updated on changes in Employment Standards and Canadian employment law.
Education and Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in HR with knowledge of recruitment, benefits, performance management and WCB claims/return to work.
- Minimum of 2 years of Dayforce experience
- Strong knowledge of labour standards regulations and human rights legislation
- MS Office/Excel skills
- CHRP designation an asset
