Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Glass Estimator to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately estimating the costs of glass and glazing projects, preparing detailed proposals, and collaborating with clients and project teams. This role requires a strong understanding of construction estimating, project management, and negotiation skills to ensure competitive pricing and successful project execution. The Glass Estimator plays a vital role in securing new business and maintaining profitable project margins.
Duties
- Prepare accurate and comprehensive estimates for glass and glazing projects using industry-standard software such as Bluebeam and HeavyBid.
- Review project plans, specifications, and drawings to determine scope of work and material requirements.
- Collaborate with clients, vendors, and internal teams to negotiate pricing, delivery timelines, and contractual terms.
- Develop detailed project proposals, including cost breakdowns, timelines, and resource allocations.
- Assist in project management tasks by tracking costs, change orders, and ensuring estimates align with actual project execution.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market prices for materials, labor, and equipment related to construction estimating.
- Support sales efforts by providing technical expertise during client meetings and bid presentations.
- Ensure all estimates comply with company standards and client specifications while maximizing profitability.
Qualifications
- Proven experience of atleast 3 years in construction estimating, preferably within the glass or glazing industry.
- Strong proficiency with Bluebeam for digital plan review and markup.
- Familiarity with HeavyBid or similar estimating software is highly desirable.
- Excellent negotiation skills to secure favorable pricing from vendors and subcontractors.
- Solid understanding of project management principles within a construction environment.
- Knowledge of construction drawings, specifications, and building codes.
- Ability to analyze complex data sets related to pricing, materials, and labor costs.
- Effective communication skills for collaboration with clients, vendors, and internal teams.
- Construction experience is preferred to better understand project workflows and technical requirements.
