Staff Plus is hiring an experienced Industrial Maintenance Mechanic for our client’s manufacturing facility in Scarborough.
This hands-on role involves troubleshooting production equipment, completing mechanical repairs, performing preventive maintenance, and supporting equipment installations. The ideal candidate has at least three years of industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience and is comfortable working with mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
Welding experience is required. A 433A Industrial Mechanic Millwright or Red Seal certification is an asset but is not required. Candidates with equivalent hands-on maintenance experience are encouraged to apply.
Location: Scarborough, ON
Pay: $28.00 - $33.00 per hour (Based on experience)
Schedule: Afternoon shift, 3:30 p.m. - 12:00 a.m.
Occasional overtime or additional maintenance coverage may be required based on operational needs.
Training: Initial training will take place on the day shift
What You’ll Do
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair production equipment and mechanical systems.
- Complete preventive maintenance, inspections, and emergency repairs.
- Maintain motors, bearings, gearboxes, pumps, hydraulic systems, and pneumatic equipment.
- Work with water heating and cooling systems.
- Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, drawings, and schematics.
- Perform welding and fabrication work.
- Support machinery installations, equipment setup, and rigging.
- Investigate recurring equipment issues and assist with root cause analysis.
- Complete work orders and preventive maintenance records using a computerized maintenance management system.
- Assist with troubleshooting AC/DC motors, controls, electronics, and PLCs where qualified.
- Operate forklifts, scissor lifts, and other specialized equipment as required.
- Follow all health and safety, quality, and plant procedures.
What You’ll Need
- At least three years of industrial maintenance experience, preferably in manufacturing.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and equipment troubleshooting skills.
- Hands-on welding experience.
- Experience maintaining mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.
- Ability to read blueprints and mechanical schematics.
- Experience with electronics, PLCs, AC/DC motors, and motor controls is an asset.
- A strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
- Ability to operate forklifts, scissor lifts, and similar equipment.
- A clean driver’s abstract.
- Verbal and written English communication skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform hands-on maintenance work involving standing, bending, kneeling, climbing stairs or ladders, and working in areas where heat, noise, or dust may be present.
