We are currently looking for a Tool Crib Coordinator to join our team in Brampton, Ontario. This is an excellent opportunity for an organized, hands-on individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced construction and fabrication environment while supporting both shop and field operations.
About the Role
The Tool Crib Coordinator is responsible for maintaining the day-to-day operations of the tool crib by tracking tools and equipment, maintaining inventory accuracy, coordinating repairs, and ensuring employees have the tools and consumables they need to perform their work safely and efficiently.
Working closely with production, field crews, purchasing, and supervisors, you will help keep projects moving by ensuring tools and equipment are available, organized, and properly maintained.
Key Responsibilities
- Issue and receive tools, equipment, and consumables to employees.
- Maintain accurate inventory records of tools, equipment, and supplies.
- Inspect tools and equipment upon return to ensure they are safe and in good working condition.
- Coordinate repairs and warranty work for damaged or defective tools.
- Track repaired equipment and return it to inventory once completed.
- Prepare tool and consumable orders for field crews and project sites.
- Assist with deliveries and pickups of tools and equipment from local project sites when required.
- Conduct routine inventory counts and report low stock levels.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe tool crib.
- Assist with shop logistics and other warehouse support activities as required.
- Follow all company health and safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications
Required
- 1–3 years of experience in construction, manufacturing, warehousing, fabrication, or a similar industrial environment.
- Basic knowledge of construction tools, equipment, and consumables.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Comfortable using tablets, smartphones, or inventory management software.
- Valid Ontario G Driver's Licence with the ability to travel locally when required.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred
- Experience working in a structural steel, construction, manufacturing, or industrial environment.
- Forklift and/or overhead crane experience (training or certification is considered an asset).
- Experience with inventory management or warehouse systems.
- Post-secondary education or technical training is considered an asset.
