Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Floor Care Technician to join our facilities maintenance team. The ideal candidate will have experience in custodial services, facilities maintenance, or commercial cleaning, and possess strong communication and time management skills. The position requires physical stamina for heavy lifting and the ability to operate various tools and equipment to perform floor care tasks efficiently. A commitment to quality workmanship and workplace safety is required.
Responsibilities
- Perform thorough cleaning and maintenance of various flooring surfaces using appropriate tools and techniques
- Operate power tools and hand tools safely to strip, wax, buff, and polish floors
- Utilize custodial equipment such as floor scrubbers, vacuums, and buffers to ensure optimal results
- Conduct routine inspections of floors to identify areas needing repair or special attention
- Manage time effectively to complete scheduled cleaning tasks within designated timeframes
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols at all times
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding work progress or issues encountered
Skills
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and commercial cleaning equipment
- Experience in facilities maintenance or custodial services is preferred
- Strong knowledge of cleaning procedures, floor cleaning chemicals and safety standards in a commercial setting
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely (up to 50 pounds) as required for moving equipment or materials
- Good communication skills for coordinating with team members and reporting issues promptly
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high-quality standards
- Must have a G class drivers license, and be able to be bonded/insured.
Pay: $17.20-$25.00 per hour
