Millennium Insurance is seeking a Junior Commercial Property Claims Examiner who will be responsible for investigating, evaluating, and resolving commercial property claims while ensuring fair, timely, and accurate outcomes for policyholders.

- Collaborate with policyholders, independent adjusters (IAs), contractors, and other stakeholders to gather relevant information and assess property damage accurately.
- Review and evaluate IA reports for commercial property claims, assess coverage, liability, and extent of damage or loss.
- Analyze policy coverage to determine the scope of insurance claims, while identifying potential subrogation opportunities.
- Verify the validity of claims and escalate any potentially fraudulent activity.
- Prepare clear and detailed reports outlining findings, coverage positions, and recommended settlement and reserve amounts.
- Negotiate claim settlements with policyholders, balancing customer experience with company guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and internal company policies throughout the claims process.
- Maintain accurate, comprehensive, and audit-ready claim files and documentation in accordance with company guidelines and industry standards.
- Provide exceptional customer service by promptly responding to inquiries, providing status updates, and addressing stakeholder concerns.
- Stay current with industry trends, legal developments, and best practices in claims management.
- Minimum of two (2) years of commercial property claims experience
- Field property adjusting experience is required
- Xactimate experience is considered an asset
- Post-secondary education and/or CIP designation is an asset
- Working knowledge of property insurance policies, coverage interpretation, and claims procedures
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage effectively with policyholders, claimants and legal representatives
- Proficient computer skills, including experience with claims management software and MS Office Suite
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate complex information and make informed decisions
- Possess high attention to detail, with strong organization and prioritization skills
- Strong customer service orientation and professionalism
In the first year, success will be measured by your ability to accurately assess and resolve commercial property claims, provide excellent customer service, maintain quality documentation, and progressively take on more complex files and responsibilities.
