Position Overview:
We are seeking to add (2) compassionate and experienced Educational Assistant to our growing team. This role is crucial in providing one-on-one and small group support to students in grades 1-12, helping them overcome academic challenges and build confidence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist students with diverse learning needs in subjects like Math, English/Language Arts, Science, Geography/History, etc.
- Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and adapt instructional materials to meet specific needs.
- Support students with ADHD, ASD Level 1, communication disorders, mild to severe learning disorders in reading, writing and mathematics access the curriculum, develop effective study habits and organizational skills.
- Collaborate with teachers and other staff to create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to educators and parents.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience working with intermediate and/or senior students in a school setting.
- Strong understanding of various exceptionalities and how they impact learning and behaviour.
- Ability to implement and adapt strategies to accommodate individual learning needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Relevant educational background or certification in special education or a related field preferred.
