This role is hybrid and requires you to be at our downtown Toronto and/or Client office (44 King St,) at a minimum 2 days per week subject to change at any time.
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to support the design, development, and enhancement of a financial reconciliation application. This role is primarily focused on backend development using C# and .NET technologies and is ideal for someone who enjoys building scalable enterprise applications, working with large volumes of financial data, and collaborating with business and technical stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions.
The successful candidate will contribute to the development of reliable, secure, and high-performing systems that support financial transaction processing and reconciliation activities within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Your future duties and responsibilities
Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable backend applications using C# and .NET Framework/.NET Core/.NET 6+.
Build and enhance features for a financial reconciliation platform.
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
Analyze, process, and manage financial transactional data and data-intensive workflows.
Develop clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following established development standards and best practices.
Support application deployments across various environments and assist with release activities.
Ensure application performance, reliability, scalability, and security.
Perform unit testing, debugging, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
Integrate applications with databases, APIs, and internal enterprise systems.
Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the development team.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
5+ years of experience in software development.
Strong expertise in:
C#
.NET Framework, .NET Core, and/or .NET 6+
Proven experience in backend/server-side application development.
Experience working with relational databases, particularly Microsoft SQL Server or similar database technologies.
Ability to work with large datasets and data-intensive applications.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with financial systems, financial data, or financial institutions.
Understanding of:
Financial reconciliation processes
Transaction matching and ledger systems
Exposure to:
Enterprise banking systems
Data integration and ETL processes
Familiarity with cloud platforms and cloud-based application architectures.
Experience designing and developing APIs and microservices.
CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $80,000–$130,000. This role is an existing vacancy.
