Job Overview
Nomad Gourmet is looking for reliable, friendly, and hardworking Event & Banquet Servers to join our catering team for weddings, private events, corporate functions, and other catered gigs throughout Halifax and surrounding areas.
This is not a typical restaurant serving position. Our servers work as part of a catering team to help create a smooth, fun, and memorable experience for guests at a variety of events.
Responsibilities
- Provide friendly and professional service to guests
- Assist with food service, buffet service, and passed appetizers
- Serve and assist guests during weddings and catered events
- Clear and reset tables throughout events
- Help with event setup and breakdown
- Keep food and service areas clean and organized
- Work closely with the catering team and event coordinators
- Assist wherever needed to keep the event running smoothly
Experience
- Previous serving, catering, hospitality, or event experience is an asset
- Friendly, outgoing, and comfortable interacting with guests
- Reliable and punctual
- Able to work well as part of a team
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Professional and presentable
- Able to be on your feet for extended periods and lift/move up to approximately 40 lbs
- Flexible availability, particularly evenings and weekends
- Must have reliable transportation to and from event locations
