Rozen Steelworks specializes in the fabrication of pressure piping, power piping, and structural steel. We are currently looking for a dedicated Structural Steel Plate Fitter to join the Rozen Steelworks team in Acheson, AB location.
Role Responsibilities:
- Study engineering drawings and blueprints, determine the materials required, and plan the sequence of tasks to cut metal most efficiently
- Construct patterns and templates as guides for layouts
- Lay out reference points and patterns on heavy metal according to component specifications
- Rig, hoist and move materials to storage areas or within worksite
- Assemble and fit metal sections and plates to form complete units or subunits using tack welding, bolting, riveting or other methods
- Set up and operate various heavy-duty metal-working machines such as cutting torches, grinders and drills, including computer numerical control (CNC) equipment, to bend, cut, form, punch, drill or otherwise form heavy-metal components
- Oversee team of workers
- Follow safety protocols to ensure a safe work environment at all times
- Install fabricated components in final product
- Other duties as required
Role Requirements:
- Must be a Journeyman Structural Steel Plate Fitter from a recognized provincial training authority
- WHMIS 2015, CSTS 2020
- First Aid level C (preferred)
- Fall protection and AWP (preferred)
- Confined space (preferred)
- Must be able to work with heavy equipment such as overhead cranes, power tools, angle grinders, etc
- Must possess Canadian Welding Bureau FCAW/MCAW tickets
- Must possess a minimum of 3 to 5 years' experience
- Commitment to safety and safe work procedures
- Self-motivated with an attention to detail
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Ability to work with little supervision
- Ability to lift 50lbs
- Fit for duty
Terms of Employment:
- Monday to Friday - 6:00 am to 4:30 pm - 50 hour weeks
- Overtime after 40 hours
- Steady employment backed by contracts secured through 2027
- Hourly rate is per Union Collective Agreement
