Position Overview:
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in employment and human rights law, with excellent written and oral advocacy skills. You should be confident, proactive, and client-focused, with the ability to communicate effectively and negotiate firmly with opposing counsel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent clients in employment, human rights, and related litigation matters.
- Prepare and draft correspondence, pleadings, mediation briefs, and legal arguments.
- Attend mediations, discoveries, court proceedings, and tribunal hearings.
- Manage case files and provide timely updates to clients.
- Deliver exceptional client service by explaining complex legal concepts clearly and managing client expectations effectively.
- Negotiate settlements and represent clients in alternative dispute resolution processes.
Qualifications:
- LL.B. or J.D. from an accredited law school and a member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario (LSO).
- 2–5 years of experience in employment, labour, or human rights law.
- Proven ability to manage litigation files independently.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Client-focused with the ability to handle sensitive matters with professionalism and discretion.
