We're a small but busy millwork and custom shop that provides millwork and design services to residential and commercial clients.
The Role
Do you have a passion for installing? Are you great at finishing details? We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Installer. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, contributing to custom woodworking, cabinetry, and various construction projects. The ideal candidate is organized for the day or the week's project, will be eager to learn, a detail-oriented and experienced installer, who is ready to assist with shop fabrication tasks when installations are stalled. This role is perfect for someone passionate about craftsmanship, construction, and restoration industries who wants to grow their skills while supporting our team.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret shop drawings and plans to ensure accurate installation and/or fabrication of projects
- Perform on-site installations with precision and care
- Communicate professionally with team members and project manager
- Troubleshoot and problem-solve during installs
- Ensure projects meet quality standards and timelines
- Fabricate and assemble custom millwork and cabinetry
- Support installation teams by preparing materials, measuring, cutting, and assembling components on-site or in the shop
- Perform heavy lifting and material handling safely to meet project deadlines
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace while adhering to safety protocols at all times
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in installation and millwork fabrication is a BONUS
- Experience in install finishing a plus
- Strong understanding of materials, tools, and processes
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliable and self-motivated
- Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship
- Adaptability and ability to shift focus dependent on project priorities
- Ability to take direction and initiative while adhering to procedures
- Valid driver’s license (preferred)
- Prior experience in construction estimating, trim carpentry, frame carpentry or related fields is preferred but not required; willingness to learn is essential
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, scaffolding, and basic woodworking techniques
- Experience reading blueprints or schematics for accurate project execution
- Knowledge of construction site safety procedures and ability to work safely in various environments
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks regularly
- Basic understanding of plumbing, electrical work, masonry or roofing is a plus but not mandatory
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude are essential for success in this hybrid role
- Not mandatory but can definitely be seen as assets: Red Seal in Carpentry, MEWP, Fall Protection Certification, Forklift ticket, First Aid Certification
