Sultan Ahmet Turkish Cuisine in Mississauga is hiring a skilled and reliable Grill Chef who has experience working with charcoal/grill stations, kebabs, shawarma, BBQ, or similar high-volume restaurant cooking. The ideal candidate should be able to work in a fast-paced kitchen, maintain consistency, and follow food safety standards.
Responsibilities
Prepare and cook grilled items, including kebabs, chicken, beef, lamb, and other menu items
Operate the grill station efficiently during busy service hours
Ensure food is cooked to proper quality, temperature, and presentation standards
Follow recipes, portion sizes, and restaurant standards
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the grill/kitchen area
Follow food safety, hygiene, and health standards
Assist with prep work, marination, and kitchen setup as needed
Work as part of a team with kitchen staff, servers, and management
Help reduce food waste and maintain consistency in every order
Requirements
Previous experience as a Grill Chef, BBQ Chef, Kebab Chef, or similar role
Experience in Turkish, Middle Eastern, Mediterranean, or high-volume restaurant kitchens is an asset
Ability to work under pressure in a busy restaurant environment
Strong understanding of food safety and kitchen cleanliness
Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team
Ability to stand for long periods and work in a hot kitchen environment
Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
