Responsibilities
- Assist in planning and implementing age-appropriate activities that promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development
- Support classroom management and ensure a safe, inclusive environment for all children
- Collaborate with lead teachers and team members to deliver individualized care and educational plans
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues to foster strong relationships and open dialogue
- Maintain accurate records of children's progress, attendance, and daily activities using computer systems
- Support children with special needs or disabilities by adapting activities and providing additional assistance as needed
- Ensure compliance with licensing regulations, safety protocols, and organizational policies at all times
Skills
- Fluency in English; proficiency in French is a strong asset for bilingual communication
- Experience working with children in early childhood settings or classroom environments
- Knowledge of childcare principles, early childhood education practices, and child development stages
- Familiarity with special education strategies and experience working with individuals with disabilities
- Strong teaching skills combined with excellent communication abilities to engage children effectively
- Proficient computer skills including basic operation of educational software and record keeping systems
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to support team collaboration and guide young learners confidently
- Writing skills necessary for documentation, progress reports, and communication with families
