Position Overview
We are seeking a full-time Delivery Driver/Facility Cleaner for a 6-month contract. This role will support our shop by delivering and picking up parts, equipment and maintaining a clean facility. The ideal candidate is reliable, organized, and able to work independently. This posting is for an existing temporary vacancy to cover employee leave; however, it may be extended beyond 6 months and there may be a possibility of permanent employment, however it is not guaranteed.
Duties
- Operate company vehicles in a safe and professional manner to deliver parts and equipment to customers and vendors in a timely manner.
- Load and unload parts and equipment, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage.
- Provide exceptional customer service and communicate effectively with the parts and/or service department to address any delivery-related issues.
- Assist in warehouse operations as needed, including moving inventory and organizing stock.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow.
- Maintain delivery logs and other required documentation.
- Perform daily general cleaning and housekeeping duties throughout the facility, including shop floors, lunchrooms, offices, washrooms, hallways, and locker rooms.
- Ensure all garbage and recycling bins are emptied on a scheduled basis.
- Operate cleaning equipment as required, including scrubbers, pressure washers, vacuums, and other industrial cleaning tools
- Maintain exterior and yard cleanliness by picking up debris and ensuring a safe, organized environment.
- Support general facility upkeep, including ensuring hoses, extension cords, and equipment are properly stored after use
- Maintain cleanliness and fuel levels of company vehicles as assigned
- Perform basic grounds maintenance, including grass cutting and trimming as required
- Follow all HFS health & safety procedures and traffic regulations.
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Valid Ontario G driver’s licence with a clean driver’s abstract.
- Comfortable driving cube vans and other company vehicles especially in heavy trafficked areas. The right candidate may be tasked with driving from Stratford to the GTA.
- Strong time management and communication skills.
- Must be physically capable of performing the essential duties of the role, including lifting, standing, bending, reaching, gripping etc. Mechanical aids and/or team lifting may be used where appropriate for safety.
- Knowledge of truck parts is an asset but not required.
- Must be dependable and able to work independently.
- Must take pride in precise, accurate work.
