Occupational Therapist
Reports To
Manager, Clinical Services
Summary
The Occupational Therapist (OT), under the direction of the Manager, Clinical Services, plays a key role in providing evidence-based care within the Family Health Team, with a primary focus on general occupational therapy services and the low back pain program. Working collaboratively with an inter-professional team, the OT delivers assessments, education, treatment and self-management strategies to support patients in improving function, managing pain, and enhancing quality of life. The Occupational Therapist must possess valid first aid and CPR certification and strong sense of ethics and the ability to handle sensitive or private information with tact and discretion.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science or Masters Degree in Occupational Therapist required and in good standing with your professional regulatory college
- Valid first aid and CPR certification and clean vulnerable sector check
- Proven knowledge of case management processes and procedures
- Knowledge of safe patient lifting/handling techniques
- High flexibility with strong interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse environment
- Demonstrated time management skills
- Ability to work individually as well as part of a team
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
- Three years of experience in an appropriate field
