Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth Worker to support and engage young individuals in a positive and nurturing environment. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children and individuals with disabilities, demonstrating patience, creativity, and strong communication skills. This role involves planning and implementing activities that promote personal growth, social skills, and overall well-being of youth participants. The Youth Worker will play a vital role in fostering a safe, inclusive, and supportive space for all participants.
Responsibilities
- Develop and facilitate engaging activities tailored to the needs of children and youth, including those with disabilities.
- Provide emotional support and mentorship to help youth build confidence and social skills.
- Assist in creating individualized plans to support the developmental goals of participants.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all youth during activities and throughout program hours.
- Collaborate with families, caregivers, and other professionals to coordinate care and support services.
- Maintain accurate records of participation, progress, and any incidents or concerns.
- Promote an inclusive environment that respects diversity and encourages positive interactions among participants.
Requirements
- Experience working with children and individuals with disabilities is highly preferred.
- Strong background in teaching or educational activities is desirable.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to connect effectively with youth from diverse backgrounds.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting youth development.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
- Must be reliable, responsible, and committed to creating a safe space for all participants.
- Relevant certifications or training in youth development or special needs support are a plus but not required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.15-$21.00 per hour
