We are currently seeking a Business Analyst to join our Streetcar Way team!
The Business Analyst will be responsible for coordinating, administering, developing, implementing and maintaining the Section’s business systems, relevant applications, processes, and procedures to ensure that business needs are met. As a Business Analyst you will develop solutions with a focus on providing statistical analyses, summaries and KPI’s.
In this role, you will be responsible for developing solutions and plans to implement new systems, policies, procedures and end-user requirements to meet the business needs of the Streetcar Way section. You will conduct cost‑benefit and feasibility studies, as well as design and implement medium‑ and high‑complexity systems. The Business Analyst will formulate business and system requirements, perform detailed analyses, and prepare comprehensive business documentation and functional specifications. In this position, you will design and develop proposals, forms, workflows, business processes, data models, and system specifications to support operational needs.
You will also develop solutions and implementation plans for new systems, policies, procedures, and end‑user requirements. In this role, you will keep senior management informed of project progress and provide recommendations for efficiencies through statistical analysis, summaries, KPIs, charts, and reports. You will act as a Project Leader for system‑related initiatives, developing business solutions, configuring applications, and performing quality assurance testing. As a Business Analyst you will also assist, guide, and train departmental staff on computerized systems and applications.
In this position, you will research procedural issues, prepare reports, and provide data to other departments as required. You will identify system requirements or changes and assist in developing justification for new implementations or modifications. The role includes administering, maintaining, and updating systems, policies, procedures, and related materials. You will also monitor third‑party contracts to ensure work is completed accurately and according to specifications, while communicating key findings, issues, proposed changes, and progress to management and stakeholders.

- Completion of a post-secondary college diploma or university degree in a related discipline or a combination of education, training and experience deemed to be equivalent.
- Your application will reveal strong knowledge of information systems such as IBM Maximo, SAP, SharePoint and computer technology concepts, principles and practices and their application in a business environment.
- Strong technology background with experience leading and developing large scale computer application or information systems projects is considered an asset.
- Your application will reveal comprehensive knowledge of systems analysis and database design concepts and practices.
- You must have sound knowledge of project management concepts and practices.
- Knowledge of end user support functions and data security/audit principles and procedures.
- Knowledge of current computer applications, software, office automation technology, and PC hardware/software.
- Your application will reveal a strong ability to plan, conduct, coordinate and manage various projects associated with the development, implementation and maintenance of information systems.
- Must have, or rapidly acquire familiarity with the various types of equipment used in the Section, as well as the associated maintenance requirements, equipment lifecycles, work methods, maintenance procedures etc.
- Must have good judgement; well-developed analytical and problem solving skills; effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- Well-developed time management and presentation skills is essential to this role, along with the ability to train and coach peers using easy to understand terms
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Must have or quickly acquire knowledge of TTC and Departmental policies and procedures applicable to the work performed.
