Job Summary
Panorama Hills Animal Hospital is a privately owned facility in NW Calgary. We are seeking a full time Veterinary Assistant/Receptionist to join our veterinary team of veterinary professionals. This vital role involves maintaining clinic cleanliness/biosecurity, upkeep of stock, machines and surgical packs, assist veterinarians and RVTs with patient care, and assist front end with exceptional customer service to all clientele. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a compassionate attitude towards animals and pet owners, and experience in a veterinary or medical setting. Responsibilities
- Safety and infection control: Follow workplace safety, animal-handling, biosecurity, and infection-control procedures.
- Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians during examinations, treatments, surgery, and other procedures.
- Surgical assistance: Prepare surgical areas, supplies, and equipment and assist the team before, during, and after procedures.
- Greet clients and their pets warmly upon arrival, creating a welcoming environment.
- Schedule, confirm, and reschedule appointments efficiently using our clinic management system.
- Answer phone calls, respond to client inquiries, and provide accurate information about services.
- Maintain detailed and organized patient records.
- Process payments and handle billing procedures accurately.
- Assist with laboratory tasks as needed- running lab samples, or preparing them to go out to the laboratory.
Experience
- Previous experience in a veterinary or medical reception role is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to multitask.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to empathize with pet owners.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment. Strong work ethic.
- Proficiency in using computer software for scheduling and record keeping is desirable. This role is essential for maintaining efficient clinic operations while delivering compassionate care to our clients and their pets. Hours
We are open to accept full time applicants. Applicant must also be willing to work 1-2 Saturdays per month. I look forward to meeting you and discussing this oppurtunity!
Pay: $16.00-$20.00 per hour
