Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Junior Accountant to support our day-to-day operations. This role includes accounting administration, payroll support, customer service, and order entry. It also plays an important part in month-end and quarterly accounting processes.
The successful candidate will lead the implementation of a new accounting system, including setup coordination, testing, documentation, and user support.
This position works closely with Operations and Accounting management. It is well suited to someone who is organized, accurate, and comfortable managing multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced office environment.
Responsibilities
- Payroll and HR administration
- Accounts receivable and accounts payable as a shared responsibility
- Bank reconciliations
- General ledger reconciliations
- Process and balance credit card transactions
- Support bank deposits and other cash-related processes
- Provide customer service and order-entry support by phone and email
- Process customer orders and route issues appropriately
- Participate in month-end and quarterly close activities
- Prepare schedules and provide reporting support
- Maintain accounting documentation and procedures
- Assist with general office, property-related, and back-office duties as required
Qualifications
- Previous experience in accounting and office administration
- Post-secondary degree in a related field
- Experience with accounting software; QuickBooks experience is an asset
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Comfortable handling customer interactions and order entry
- Ability to manage multiple priorities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
