SKILLED CARPENTER / LABORER
Primary Function:
To work within a construction team to support daily projects. Previous experience in the construction industry is required. Our candidate must be reliable, dependable, with good work ethics, and a positive attitude. Conforming and complying with all safety rules and regulations, company policies and procedures is mandatory. Meeting daily project expectations is a priority.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
· Knowledge of various types of construction work - from new builds to renovations
· Previous experience with ICF
· Working at Heights, Fall and arrest, fall protection, safety training certificate preferred.
· Excellent communication skills are an asset. You must be a good listener and also able to ask questions to make sure project instructions are totally understood.
· Self-starter with a willingness to learn new skills. You want to learn? We can teach you!
· Flexible and willing to adjust to changing of assigned work. We may have multiple projects on the go at one time.
· Valid driver’s license and own vehicle to get to and from our shop. We must also be able to insure you on our company vehicles and equipment.
· Willing and able to travel out of town with a crew for specific job sites when required.
· CPR/First Aid is an asset
· Interpret technical drawings to ensure structural components, rooms, and systems are built to exact measurements.
· Site Preparation & Maintenance: Clear and grade job sites, erect scaffolding, build temporary structures, and safely manage hazardous material removal.
· Load, transport, and distribute heavy building materials and tools to designated work areas.
· Work directly with contractors, electricians, plumbers, and carpenters to expedite complex assemblies and installations.
· Tool Operation: Safely utilize a variety of hand and power tools, including circular saws, nail guns, jackhammers, and concrete saws.
· Mix, pour, and spread foundational materials like concrete, asphalt, and mortar.
· High proficiency in specific building methodologies, such as framing, masonry, or finishing.
· The ability to perform strenuous heavy labor for long hours, lift heavy objects (often 50lbs to 80lbs)
Hours of Work:
Days, Monday to Friday with extended hours as required due to periods of peak workloads.
Rate of Pay:
Actual starting salary will depend on the candidate’s qualifications and work experience.
Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
