Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Scheduling Coordinator to join our logistics and supply chain team. The ideal candidate will manage scheduling operations, coordinate freight and shipping activities, and ensure seamless communication across departments. This role requires strong technical skills, excellent communication, and the ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently. The Scheduling Coordinator plays a vital part in optimizing transportation management systems and supporting our supply chain operations, including third-party logistics (3PL) providers. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with a focus on accuracy, analysis, and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Manage and update transportation schedules using Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and other means.
- Coordinate freight shipments, shipping, and receiving activities to ensure timely delivery and pickup.
- Utilize data entry skills to maintain accurate records of shipments, schedules, and inventory movements.
- Create productivity, performance and shift reports
- Communicate effectively with carriers, vendors, and internal teams via multi-line phone systems while maintaining professional phone etiquette.
- Analyze shipping data to identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings.
- On-call for any shift cancellations or changes
- Assist in planning supply chain activities by analyzing freight data and coordinating schedules accordingly.
- Support shipping & receiving operations by ensuring proper documentation and compliance with company policies.
- Use communication skills to provide updates on shipment statuses and resolve scheduling conflicts efficiently.
Requirements
- Proven experience with Transportation Management Systems
- Strong understanding of supply chain processes, freight management, and shipping & receiving procedures.
- Excellent data entry skills with high accuracy; proficiency in typing and multi-line phone systems is essential.
- Analytical skills to interpret logistics data and recommend improvements.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with professional phone etiquette.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
- Prior experience working with 3PL providers is preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. This role is integral to maintaining efficient logistics operations within our organization, supporting overall supply chain effectiveness through precise scheduling and communication expertise.
- Remain on-call to monitor any changes in driver schedule, sick calls, etc.
Pay: From $50,000.00 per year
