They are seeking an experienced Site Superintendent to oversee day-to-day field operations, lead project teams, and ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Position Summary
The Site Superintendent is responsible for the overall execution of construction activities on a designated project site. This includes coordinating trades, managing schedules, maintaining safety and quality standards, allocating resources effectively, and serving as the primary on-site leader throughout the project lifecycle.
The successful candidate will provide strong leadership, proactively resolve challenges, and ensure consistent communication between field teams, project management, subcontractors, consultants, and clients.
Key Responsibilities
Site Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Serve as the primary on-site leader, managing all field operations for one primary construction site.
- Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing work environment.
- Build strong working relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.
- Represent the organization professionally during site visits, inspections, and project meetings.
- Document and communicate project milestones, progress updates, and challenges to internal and external stakeholders.
Project Execution & Coordination
- Coordinate daily construction activities to ensure work progresses according to project schedules.
- Monitor project timelines and proactively address potential delays.
- Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Coordinators, consultants, and subcontractors to achieve project objectives.
- Review construction drawings and specifications to ensure accurate execution of work.
- Resolve design, scheduling, and construction issues in a timely and effective manner.
Resource Management
- Optimize workforce, equipment, and material utilization to maximize project efficiency.
- Monitor material inventory levels and coordinate procurement activities to prevent disruptions.
- Ensure labour, tools, and equipment are deployed effectively to support project schedules.
- Recommend equipment rentals, upgrades, or operational improvements that enhance productivity and performance.
Risk Management
- Identify potential project risks and implement mitigation strategies to minimize impacts.
- Maintain and update site-specific emergency response plans.
- Train site personnel to identify and address safety and operational risks proactively.
- Ensure issues are escalated appropriately before they affect project performance.
Safety & Compliance
- Champion a strong safety culture and ensure full compliance with Occupational Health & Safety legislation.
- Conduct site safety meetings, inspections, and toolbox talks.
- Ensure all personnel receive site orientation and adhere to established safety requirements.
- Respond promptly to incidents, complete required documentation, and manage reporting procedures.
- Administer First Aid and coordinate incident response activities when required.
- Promote accountability and safe work practices among all site personnel.
Sustainability & Environmental Compliance
- Implement environmentally responsible construction practices.
- Support waste reduction, recycling, and material reuse initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and project-specific sustainability requirements.
Quality Assurance
- Conduct regular quality inspections to ensure work meets project specifications and company standards.
- Identify deficiencies and coordinate corrective actions promptly.
- Develop and maintain quality control procedures throughout project execution.
- Collaborate with project teams to resolve quality concerns and maintain high-quality project delivery.
Project Administration
- Utilize project scheduling and management tools to track project progress, labour hours, and budgets.
- Maintain accurate and organized site documentation, including:
- Daily reports
- Site logs
- Deficiency lists
- Safety records
- As-built drawings
- Review and submit timesheets, material orders, and project documentation in a timely manner.
- Coordinate deliveries and ensure materials are available as required to support construction schedules.
Qualifications & Experience
Required
- 5–7 years of progressive construction field experience in supervisory or leadership roles.
- Journeyperson Carpenter certification.
- NCSO (National Construction Safety Officer) designation.
- Strong experience overseeing commercial, institutional, or industrial construction projects.
- Proven ability to lead site teams and manage subcontractor performance.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, sequencing, and site operations.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and construction documents.
- Experience using project scheduling and construction management tools.
Preferred
- CSTS 20 certification.
- WHMIS certification.
- Experience with Vista ERP, Bluebeam, Workhub, Microsoft Excel, Word, and Microsoft Project.
- First Aid certification.
