Safetech Scaffold Ltd. is currently seeking a committed individual for the position of SCAFFOLD FOREPERSON to join our growing team of project leaders. We have a great team of people working within a safety conscious environment, with jobs spanning Vancouver Island (and occasionally other places within the province as well). Job requirements:
- Demonstrate strong leadership skills and value teamwork
- Be a dedicated self-starter, taking pride in their accomplishments
- Maintain excellent communication skills while interacting with customers and management
- Ensure health and safety protocols are always followed
- Be able to work efficiently and maintain an organized method
- Present effective problem-solving abilities
- Provide own CSA approved steel-toed boots and a hard hat
Job duties:
- Able to read drawings and build scaffold accordingly
- Create comprehensive equipment lists, as necessary
- Meet timelines set by customers and management
- Complete all paperwork required daily
- Confidently train and mentor apprentices
- Perform other duties, as needed
Job Qualifications:
- Minimum 5+ years verifiable experience in scaffolding (references required)
- Minimum 1+ years verifiable experience as a foreperson (references required)
- Relevant credentials necessary (scaffold ticket/experience)
- Fall protection certification (required)
- Valid class 5 driver’s license with clean abstract (required)
- First Aid certification (an asset)
Working Conditions:
- This is moderately strenuous work. Scaffolders must be capable of performing repetitive tasks and may require extended periods of standing, crouching, crawling, or kneeling.
- There may be potential exposure to high noise levels and hazards associated with job sites.
- Must be willing and able to work outdoors in all kinds of weather conditions, year-round.
