Part-Time Online Tutor | AP Academy
AP Academy is a Markham-based academic tutoring company helping ambitious high school students achieve their academic goals and prepare for competitive university programs.
We are currently hiring part-time online tutors for September 2026 to join our growing team. Tutors will work directly with students in a 1-on-1 online setting, providing personalized instruction, explaining difficult concepts, building strong study habits, and helping students make measurable academic progress.
We are looking for tutors who are strong academically, excellent communicators, and genuinely enjoy working with high school students. The ideal candidate is someone who can make challenging material feel clear and approachable while holding students to a high standard.
Subjects may include:
- High school Mathematics, including Functions, Advanced Functions and Calculus
- Physics
- Chemistry
- Biology
- English and essay writing
- Computer Science
- SAT and other standardized test preparation
What you’ll do:
- Deliver engaging 1-on-1 online tutoring sessions
- Explain concepts clearly and adapt your teaching to each student’s needs
- Help students prepare for tests, assignments and exams
- Identify knowledge gaps and develop strategies to address them
- Track student progress and communicate important observations to the AP Academy team
- Help students develop better problem-solving, study and learning habits
What we’re looking for:
- Strong academic background in the subjects you teach
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Previous tutoring or teaching experience is an asset
- Ability to work independently and reliably online
- Strong organization and professionalism
- A genuine interest in helping students improve
- University students, graduates, teachers and experienced tutors are welcome to apply
