Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Film Catering Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team on set. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing food preparation, ensuring food safety standards, and managing kitchen operations to deliver exceptional catering services for film productions. This role requires strong leadership, team management, and culinary expertise to support the seamless execution of large-scale catering in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to menu specifications, maintaining consistency and presentation standards
- Manage food handling procedures, ensuring compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations
- Buffet set up and take down. Buffet cleaning and replenishment
- inventory management, including ordering supplies and minimizing waste. This includes buffet take aways, condiments etc.
- Ensure all meals are prepared on time and meet the dietary requirements of cast and crew
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with health regulations
- Serve meals to cast and crew efficiently while maintaining excellent customer service standards
Experience
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, and food handling with a strong understanding of culinary techniques
- Background in restaurants is highly desirable
- Extensive knowledge of food safety protocols and sanitation practices
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment such as film or television production or high volume fast food
- Familiarity with the food industry standards for hospitality and serving large groups of people
