Position Summary
We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Junior District Manager to oversee a portfolio of quick-service restaurant locations within a designated geographic area. In this role, you will be the critical link between corporate operations and the front line, ensuring each unit delivers consistent food quality, exceptional guest experiences, and profitable performance. You will spend the majority of your time in the field conducting store visits, coaching unit-level leadership, and driving local store marketing initiatives that build brand presence and increase traffic in your communities.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Store Visits
- Conduct regular, unannounced and scheduled store visits (typically 3–5 days per week) to assess operational standards, food safety compliance, cleanliness, speed of service, and guest satisfaction.
- Evaluate P&L performance with General Managers, identifying trends in COGS, labor, and controllable expenses; implement corrective action plans where needed.
- Lead weekly manager meetings and monthly business reviews to align teams on priorities, promotions, and operational goals.
- Ensure all locations adhere to company policies, brand standards, and local health regulations.
Team Development
- Recruit, train, and mentor General Managers and shift leaders; build bench strength for future promotions.
- Provide hands-on coaching in real-time during store visits, focusing on crew productivity, customer engagement, and conflict resolution.
- Conduct performance evaluations and administer progressive discipline when necessary.
Local Store Marketing (LSM)
- Develop and execute hyper-local marketing strategies tailored to each store’s trade area, including school partnerships, sports team sponsorships, community event participation, and local fundraiser nights.
- Collaborate with the corporate marketing team to adapt national campaigns for local relevance and maximize ROI at the store level.
- Analyze sales data and local demographic trends to identify underperforming dayparts or neighborhoods; design targeted promotions to capture untapped demand.
- Build relationships with local businesses, schools, chambers of commerce, and community organizations to drive catering and group sales.
Travel & Territory Management
- Maintain a flexible schedule with regular travel throughout your assigned district (typically a 30–60 mile radius); occasional overnight travel may be required for regional meetings, new store openings, or training sessions.
- Manage travel efficiently to maximize time in restaurants while maintaining work-life balance.
- Represent the brand at regional and corporate meetings, sharing field insights and best practices with senior leadership.
Financial Accountability
- Own district-level P&L results; partner with GMs to forecast sales, control costs, and achieve targeted EBITDA.
- Monitor daily sales and labor reports; make real-time adjustments to scheduling and deployment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Hospitality, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- 2–4 years of multi-unit or high-volume single-unit management experience in QSR, fast-casual, or retail environments.
- Proven track record of improving store-level financial performance and guest satisfaction metrics.
- Strong understanding of local marketing tactics and community engagement strategies.
- Excellent communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills; ability to influence teams without direct authority.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with POS, back-office, and labor-scheduling systems.
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.
