Summary
Wolverine Contracting & Engineering is seeking experienced QA/QC Inspectors to support our Fall Turnaround Season. Reporting directly to the QA/QC Manager, successful candidates will be responsible for the inspection of pressure piping systems, boilers, and pressure vessels for new construction, repairs, and alterations in accordance with CSA and ASME standards.
This position plays a critical role in maintaining Wolverine’s commitment to safety, quality, and workmanship while supporting industrial maintenance and turnaround projects across the region.
Responsibilities
- Review construction plans and specifications for compliance with project requirements.
- Ensure construction activities are completed in accordance with approved project requirements and Inspection Test Plans (ITPs).
- Coordinate and schedule inspections with regulatory bodies and client inspection personnel.
- Prepare for and participate in corporate and regulatory audits.
- Perform weld visual inspections.
- Create and maintain Inspection Test Plans (ITPs).
- Complete punch lists on mechanical work.
- Coordinate Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) inspections.
- Liaise with construction teams and client representatives.
- Identify, investigate, and assist in resolving quality-related issues.
- Work collaboratively with the QA/QC team to ensure daily inspection activities are completed.
- Perform other duties as required.
Skillset
- Strong understanding of quality inspection procedures, tools, and equipment.
- Knowledge of refinery equipment and process piping systems.
- Strong organizational and coordination skills.
- Ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced turnaround environment.
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Team-oriented mindset with a commitment to safety and quality.
Qualifications
- 5–10+ years of quality inspection experience.
- CWB Level 2 Welding Inspector Certification (W178.2, B31.3 and/or Section VIII / IX) preferred.
- Familiarity with ASME BPV Code, ASME B31.3, ASME B31.1, ASME Section I, II, V, VIII and IX, and CSA B51.
- Experience supporting industrial projects and turnarounds.
- Experience working with refinery equipment and process piping systems.
- Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
- Valid G Driver’s Licence.
Pay: $40.00-$60.00 per hour
