Job Summary
For a trailer manufacturing shop. Working on new builds, new trucks, and some repair orders. We are seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our industrial maintenance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy machinery and equipment used in manufacturing operations. This role requires a strong background in mechanical, electrical, and industrial systems, with the ability to interpret schematics and work with various maintenance tools. The Heavy Duty Mechanic will ensure optimal equipment performance, safety compliance, and minimal downtime to support continuous production processes.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on heavy machinery and industrial equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues using schematics and analysis skills.
- Repair or replace faulty components, including engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
- Utilize Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and CMMS software for troubleshooting and maintenance tracking.
- Conduct welding, boiler repairs, HVAC servicing, and low voltage electrical work as needed.
- Maintain detailed documentation of repairs and maintenance activities.
- Follow safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all team members.
- Collaborate with other maintenance personnel and production teams to minimize downtime.
- Assist in training new team members on equipment operation and maintenance procedures.
Experience
- Proven experience in industrial maintenance or heavy machinery repair within manufacturing environments.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with familiarity in Schematics reading and analysis skills.
- Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), CMMS systems, HVAC systems, welding, boilers, low voltage electrical work, and industrial electrician practices is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of industrial electrical systems and troubleshooting electrical issues is essential.
- Prior experience working with manufacturing equipment, analysis skills for diagnosing complex problems, and customer service orientation are advantageous.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high safety standards.
Pay: $35.00-$42.00 per hour
