Responsibilities
The Finance Manager plays a vital role in maintaining the financial strength of the company. This includes monitoring receivables, payables, cash flow, and non-project-related expenditures; ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures; and developing financial health.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Develop organizational finance strategies by contributing financial and accounting information, analysis, and recommendations that support strategic planning and business direction.
- Improve finance operating practices by evaluating trends, strengthening systems, allocating resources, resolving issues, and implementing change.
- Monitor financial performance by measuring and analyzing results, initiating corrective actions, and minimizing the impact of variances.
- Recommend, implement, and maintain finance policies and procedures that provide an appropriate level of control over Finance Department activities.
- Provide clear financial reporting that supports visibility into company performance.
- Provide financial advice on contracts the company may enter into.
- Develop cash flow projections and reporting processes that identify minimum cash requirements for operations.
- Manage cash balance, forecasts, and related reporting.
- Oversee the work of the payables, purchasing, and accounts receivable departments.
- Conduct periodic workflow audits to confirm accounting transactiona are appropriately authorized and internal controls are followed.
- Assist in identifying new funding opportunities.
- Provide monthly and quarterly financial statements.
- Prepare Canada Revenue Agency, WSIB, HST, and EHT remittances.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position will be responsible for the direct supervision of up to 5 staff members as needed.
Education and skills Required
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field: MBA preferred.
- Minimum five (5) years experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Results-oriented strategic thinker and planner.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and develop plans to meet future needs.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and ERP systems.

Working Contitions
- Exposure to a typical open-office environment, including frequent interactions with others and interuptions from staff activity, phones, and other electronic devices.
- Extended periods of computer use for accurate financial data entry and reporting.
- Ability to lift up to 22lbs., including large boxes or paper supplies.
- Occasional exposure to a manufacturing environment, including excessive noise, dust and related conditions.
Pay: $59,734.19-$172,752.29 per year
