We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Live In Caregiver to to work with a young lady whose world is experienced through the help and hands of others. The individual is small in stature and wheelchair-bound, a happy soul who loves music and people who will talk and engage with her, through words, books, and hugs. Even though she cannot communicate with her own words, her eyes have a way of expressing her needs and her smiles will warm your heart.
The Home is fully equipped with Hoists and Elevators, so no lifting is required. Upstairs on the main floor a two-man lift approach is used occasionally when the individual is moved from her wheelchair to the couch.
Location:
- Cloverdale (near Cloverdale Rodeo)
Shifts:
- Live-in Caregiver required Monday to Friday
- Arrive Monday at 2:00pm and leave Friday at 10:00am
- Work one weekend per month, other 3 weekends off while the individual goes to respite
- Time off between Monday and Friday from 8:30am-3:30pm while the individual attends day program
- Must be available if it's a holiday, the individual is sick, or unable to attend day program
Compensation:
Responsibilities will include:
- All activities of daily living and assistance with batch cooking and feeding
- Bathing and changing the diapers of the individual
- Medication administration (once a day) and any other medication that is required
- Taking the individual into the community for activities
- Light housekeeping such as cleaning and laundry
- In charge of HandyDART Schedule
- In charge of ordering the individuals products
- Will attend all of the individuals medical appointments and reviews
- Applying splints to the individuals feet, using equipment like a Standing frame
Living Situation:
- Caregiver will have their own bedroom in the basement but must be able to attend to the individual during the night if needed
- The individual typically sleeps throughout the night but may require assistance on occasion
Qualifications
- Must be able to live at the individuals residence during the week
- Must have a separate dwelling for weekends off
- First Aid Certification required
- Driver's License preferred
- Fully vaccinated against Covid-19
- Preference for caregivers of Christian Faith
