Position Summary
Reporting to the Manager, Community Giving & Engagement, the Development Coordinator, Community Giving & Engagement supports the fundraising programs of Ross Memorial Hospital Foundation including, but not limited to: Annual Giving, RMH Gift Shop, Social Media, and Community Fundraising Events.
This role is based on-site at Ross Memorial Hospital in Lindsay, Ontario.
The RMH Foundation is currently seeking a Full-Time Development Coordinator to join their team.
Effective August 24, 2026
Throughout the course of your duties you will:
- Serve as primary Gift Shop Coordinator and point of contact for Hospital and Foundation with both internal and external customers and volunteer operational issues in the Gift Shop.
- Work with the Manager, Finance & Administration and Finance Team regarding all budgeting, purchasing, inventory, cash handling, and Gift Shop equipment to ensure smooth operations.
- In conjunction with the Community Giving & Engagement Team, develop promotional strategies, cross promotions and merchandising strategies and the materials to support those strategies.
- Provide administrative support for Foundation events, community fundraising events and lottery licenses.
- Attend Foundation events in support of the Foundation and assist as required including onsite event set-up, reception, registration and tear-down.
- Onsite donation and purchase processing.
- Monitor and report as required on social media engagement, effectiveness of strategies and metrics.
- Provides support to the gift processing function in the Foundation.

As a large community hospital serving 100,000 residents plus seasonal visitors, RMH depends on the support of our donors to help fund medical equipment, capital projects and education – needs that are not covered by government funding.

Essential Qualifications
- A minimum of two years’ post-secondary education in communications, marketing, social sciences, administration, retail, promotions, or other related fields of study.
- Three to five years’ related experience in a fast-paced office, preferably a development/fundraising office.
- Intermediate experience developing and implementing social media and promotional strategies.
- Experience with Raisers’ Edge software is an asset; however, training will be provided.
- Above average software abilities are preferable with Microsoft SharePoint, Word, Outlook, Excel and Power Point.
- Proficient in the use of the Internet and E-mail.
- A passion for RMH and healthcare fundraising.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal with a strong accuracy and attention to detail.
- Provides information in a timely and efficient manner.
- Presents a highly professional image in performance and communications to both internal and external clients.
- Is comfortable mingling with donors, volunteers and other audiences in formal and informal situations, engaging them in conversation and advancing their relationship with the Foundation.
- Resourceful in approach to problem solving, flexible and works well under pressure, comfortable working independently and in a team.
- Effective and collaborative team player, sharing information freely, working in a team to achieve overall goals.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Able to work within a flexible, team structure to adapt constantly to ever-changing environment.
- Can navigate within complex Hospital structure to accomplish Foundation goals.
- Maintain donor confidentiality and comply with the Foundation’s Privacy Policy and Confidentiality Policy.
- Upholds and adheres to all applicable federal and provincial legislation regarding raising funds, donation receipting, privacy and board governance.
- Sense of humour, energetic and positive attitude.
- Adheres to the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy (AHP) & Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Code of Ethics & Donor Bill of Rights.
- Be an ambassador for RMH and the RMH Foundation.
- Complete confidentiality and discretion, tact and poise, sound judgment.
- Must be able to fulfill the physical requirements of the job, as per the current Physical Demands Analysis.
Hours of Work
- Normal working hours are 8:00 am – 4:00 pm, Monday to Friday.
- Flex hour policy in place to maintain 37.5 hours per week.
- Shifts and hours may change according to Foundation requirements. Willingness to work some early morning or evening hours required for meetings, events, and extra workload.
