Overview
We are seeking a skilled Automotive Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive repair, mechanical systems, and equipment maintenance. Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on a wide range of vehicles and machinery, including cars, trucks, and heavy equipment
- Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections, and fluid replacements
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and specialized diagnostic equipment to identify mechanical or electrical problems
- Repair or replace faulty components using welding, schematics reading, and assembly skills
- Operate industrial equipment such as forklifts, excavators, cranes, or other heavy machinery as needed
- Follow safety protocols for heavy lifting, industrial equipment operation, and hazardous materials handling
- Maintain detailed service records and document all repairs performed
- Assist with the inspection of vehicles for compliance with safety standards and manufacturer specifications
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of service orders and high customer satisfaction
Skills
- Proven experience in automotive repair or dealership service environments
- Mechanical knowledge of engines, transmissions, electrical systems, HVAC systems, and farm machinery
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and schematics interpretation
- Ability to operate heavy equipment such as forklifts, excavators, cranes, or industrial machinery safely and effectively
- Strong understanding of maintenance procedures for automotive and industrial equipment
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in diagnostics and repairs
- Customer service skills to communicate effectively with clients about repair needs and timelines
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work in physically demanding environments
- Experience working with heavy equipment operation or assembly is a plus
- Knowledge of electrical systems and schematics is desirable for complex diagnostics
