Nahanni Steel Products Inc is looking for a Quality Manager to help us implement, maintain and improve our QMS!
We are seeking an experienced Quality Manager with a strong background in automotive manufacturing and environmental management systems to support the implementation and ongoing maintenance of IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 standards. This role is responsible for conducting internal and external audits, overseeing customer quality performance, managing corrective and preventive actions, supporting supplier quality initiatives, ensuring environmental compliance, and driving continuous improvement throughout the organization.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with experience in automotive core tools including APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, and MSA, as well as a proven ability to improve operational performance, maintain compliance, and foster a culture of quality and environmental responsibility.
Key Responsibilities:
Quality Management
- Aid in the implementation, maintain and improve the Quality Management System (QMS) in compliance with IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 requirements
- Lead internal, customer, and third-party certification audits
- Manage corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) and root cause investigations
- Oversee customer complaints and non-conformance resolution
- Ensure compliance with automotive core tools:
- APQP
- PPAP
- FMEA
- SPC
- MSA
- Monitor and report quality KPIs including but not limited to PPM, scrap, rework, audit findings, and customer performance
- Lead supplier quality initiatives and performance improvement activities
- Support product launches and customer-specific requirements
Environmental Management (ISO 14001)
- Aid in the implementation, maintain and improve the Environmental Management System (EMS) in accordance with ISO 14001
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, permits, and reporting requirements
- Identify environmental risks and opportunities for sustainability improvements
- Lead environmental audits, inspections, and corrective actions
- Manage waste reduction, recycling, pollution prevention, and environmental objectives
- Coordinate environmental training and awareness programs
- Support sustainability and ESG initiatives where applicable
Leadership & Continuous Improvement
- Lead and mentor quality/environmental team members
- Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, engineering, maintenance, and supply chain teams
- Drive Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives
- Develop procedures, work instructions, and training materials
- Foster a culture of quality, compliance, and continuous improvement
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing
- 3+ years in a leadership or management role
- Strong working knowledge of IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 standards
- Experience leading certification and surveillance audits
- Knowledge of automotive core tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA)
- Experience with root cause analysis methodologies (8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, etc.)
- Understanding of environmental compliance and sustainability practices
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
