On-Call/Casual - Security Guard - Guelph/ Kitchener
Position Description: Working as a casual guard, you will be required to travel and work across multiple sites within the Kitchener and Guelph regions, including both healthcare and non-healthcare locations.

Averaging Agreement: Overtime is Averaging Agreement (AA) after 88 hours
Hours: Various Hours
Payrate:$18.35/hr (Varies from site to site)

Key responsibilities:

Patrol Hospital Grounds: Conduct regular rounds of hospital premises, including parking areas, hallways, patient rooms, entrances, and exits

Monitor Surveillance Systems: Operate security cameras and alarm systems, ensuring any suspicious activity is reported immediately to the appropriate authorities.

Access Control: Monitor and control entry points to the hospital, ensuring that only authorized individuals are allowed access to restricted areas.

Respond to Emergencies: Act quickly in emergency situations, such as medical emergencies, fire alarms, or security threats.

Provide Customer Service: Greet and assist visitors, patients, and hospital staff.

Conflict Resolution: De-escalate tense situations, resolve conflicts, and ensure that all interactions are handled calmly and professionally.

Report Writing: Document daily activities, incidents, or accidents accurately.

Enforce Hospital Policies: Ensure that hospital policies, including visitor and patient protocols, are followed.
Prerequisites:

Valid Security License for the province of Ontario
-
Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a WSIB-approved vendor)

Covid Vaccine two doses
-
Immunization records for Mumps, Measles, Rubella, Varicella and two step TB skin test

Valid G class Driver License with last 3 years of Clean Abstract as asset

English (oral and written) fluency is a must
-
Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field preferred.

Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)

Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's UoF/MOAB training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position

Please be aware: The UoF/MOAB training is not paid as it is a pre-requisite; however, Paladin will cover all of the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability
